And so after almost a year and much change I am releasing some new pieces. Today there are 3 new pieces available on etsy. I have included photos below! Click here to visit Filiadavidus’s shop
So I have launched three new prints today. They are the culmination of several days work, I had hoped to launch all four but unfortunately the fourth seems to be taking a while to come together and I really didn’t fancy holding off on the other three for the last one, so alas it is a set of three again!
They are all really a development of several different ideas but using a similar style, with mixed media. I didn’t fancy working large scale on a canvas so instead I decided to paint directly on to board, quicker and easier to prep then canvas and as it turns out easier to post as well!
Now my only concern is how to mount the originals, as the board is fairly thin….mmmm another dilemma…any and all ideas very welcome!
Well I thought I should write a post as it’s been a while since I’ve been on here! My apologies for being away so long, but I have been very extremely busy with a number of projects, many of which I hope to be able to post properly about over the coming weeks!
I have been spending a lot of time painting on both canvas and wood to create some new pieces for my Filiadavidus shop on Etsy, I hope to launch the new pieces, both originals and print versions, later this week!! It’s very exciting! I also have a couple of canvases that I will put prints up of, one of which I’m very happy with so I may just post a photo of in the next couple of days, look out for that.
One of my prints, Thoughtful, has just won the Daily Challenge over on the Etsy Challenge Blog, which I am very pleased with, it has also generated a lot of extra traffic so hopeful it’ll sell soon, fingerscrossed!
Yesterday I got an email from Kat, at Smidge.ca, to let me know that my print ‘Thoughtful’ had been featured as her Readers Choice for the day. It is lovely to know my work is getting out there! If you would like to read about it click here, alternatively you can go directly to the print ‘Thoughtful’ by clicking here.
I’d also like to say a big thank you to all the people that have put my work on their treasury’s. I woke this morning to find three messages from different sellers, saying they had chosen my work for their collection’s. What a lovely way to start the morning, only problem is now I’m going to have this kooky grin all day!
Yep, I managed to get my first treasury today!
After much refreshing of the page, I was able to finally get a treasury, although at this point I hadn’t even thought about what to call it, hence the rather unimaginative ‘Colourful Beauty’! But I guess I’ll learn for next time…Be more organised! It was difficult to choose what pieces to go for as there were so many different styles I liked, but in the end I went for something bright and eclectic, and I put two pieces of my work in there…a bit of shameless promoting but I think they fit quite well!

So today I launched two more Shoo prints in my Etsy shop, ‘The Light Wedges’ print and ‘The Black Bow Flats’ print. As these are a development idea and are really only the initial sketches and paintings, they are quite rough and perhaps not as finished as popular commercial prints are supposed to be, so I’m not sure how they are going to do. So, I have decided to take a break from this, to create some new female illustrations like I was doing before. Here are the images and the links to the two prints, The Light Wedges and The Black Bow Flats…
Following my earlier post today, I wanted to show you the first of a series of prints that I have been working on and have released on my Filiadavidus Shop on Etsy. Having been playing around with some ideas I decided to make a start on some illustrations that were based around something fun and kind of playful. So after much deliberation I decided to lend my focus to shoes….mmmm
Shoes? I hear you ask, well I have gained a fair selection over the years, from far and wide, and like a lot of people (particularly women) will agree there’s nothing nicer than a beautiful pair of shoes. In fact when I was young I used to sit and stare at my new shoes for hours after I’d bought them, and sometimes even sit in the middle of the floor and surround myself with as many different pairs as I could fit in the space! What am I saying I still do that!
But less about sitting in piles of shoes, back to the print. My first print is called ‘The Red Pumps’ and it’s a sketchy illustration of my MOST favorite pair of shoes, I love red and these are so cute when worn with skinny jeans and a shirt I just had to draw them and put them up for everyone to see. Enjoy, if you want to see the print in my shop, click here.
I have been working on a series of new pieces of work, these last few days to launch in my filiadavidus shop on Etsy. Most of the pieces are working out the way I’d hoped, but inevitably there are some that just didn’t work. This is one of them, I’m not sure whether to sell this piece, perhaps I can work further digitally to get the look I’m after…mmmm or maybe I should just leave it? The problem with me is that I dislike having illustrations that are left, I feel I should be able to take something tangible away from it. Especially when it’s an image that I like aspects of, but not the whole image.
I don’t know, I think II’ll just throw it out there and see if I can get any feedback (click the image for a larger version) …
Ah, finally I have found the Etsy Mini!! What a wonderful little advert, I thought I was pretty up todate with the little Etsy gadgets but I learned something new today.
Behold the might Mini!!
… ok so it turns out I can’t seem to get it working in my post, so just one more thing before I can show it to the world, my apologies!
As I’ve been busy with some family things over the bank holiday weekend and with my new much improved printer that arrived yesterday (much to my excited glee), I haven’t had a great deal of time to concentrate on new images. So I thought as my posts have been a little sparse I would share a couple of designers I found on Etsy, that were really inspirational to me. It was difficult picking two to show as there are soo many talented people on there, but here they are :
– Her art work is absolutely beautiful. The application of the different media she uses is very accomplished and she has a strong use of light and shadow in her work which makes it really striking. I love the sketchy and painterly way the media is applied. Krystyna81’s work is definately something I would put up on my own walls.
– These t-shirt designs are lovely and very wearable. I could definitely see myself in one of these, the only problem would be deciding which one as there are so many nice designs!
