Yep, I managed to get my first treasury today!

After much refreshing of the page, I was able to finally get a treasury, although at this point I hadn’t even thought about what to call it, hence the rather unimaginative ‘Colourful Beauty’! But I guess I’ll learn for next time…Be more organised! It was difficult to choose what pieces to go for as there were so many different styles I liked, but in the end I went for something bright and eclectic, and I put two pieces of my work in there…a bit of shameless promoting but I think they fit quite well!

So today I launched two more Shoo prints in my Etsy shop, ‘The Light Wedges’ print and ‘The Black Bow Flats’ print. As these are a development idea and are really only the initial sketches and paintings, they are quite rough and perhaps not as finished as popular commercial prints are supposed to be, so I’m not sure how they are going to do. So, I have decided to take a break from this, to create some new female illustrations like I was doing before. Here are the images and the links to the two prints, The Light Wedges and The Black Bow Flats

Wooo, so I have been featured in my very first treasury!!  The title of the treasury is ‘Blue with touches’ and the title of my piece is ‘Cusi’, it was so lovely to see my piece chosen along with other designers. It really gave me a boost this morning with the weather so miserable outside. You can see the treasury here or see the Cusi print featured here.

Following my earlier post today, I wanted to show you the first of a series of prints that I have been working on and have released on my Filiadavidus Shop on Etsy. Having been playing around with some ideas I decided to make a start on some illustrations that were based around something fun and kind of playful. So after much deliberation I decided to lend my focus to shoes….mmmm

Shoes? I hear you ask, well I have gained a fair selection over the years, from far and wide, and like a lot of people (particularly women) will agree there’s nothing nicer than a beautiful pair of shoes. In fact when I was young I used to sit and stare at my new shoes for hours after I’d bought them, and sometimes even sit in the middle of the floor and surround myself with as many different pairs as I could fit in the space! What am I saying I still do that!

But less about sitting in piles of shoes, back to the print. My first print is called ‘The Red Pumps’ and it’s a sketchy illustration of my MOST favorite pair of shoes, I love red and these are so cute when worn with skinny jeans and a shirt I just had to draw them and put them up for everyone to see. Enjoy, if you want to see the print in my shop, click here.

I have been working on a series of new pieces of work, these last few days to launch in my filiadavidus shop on Etsy. Most of the pieces are working out the way I’d hoped, but inevitably there are some that just didn’t work. This is one of them, I’m not sure whether to sell this piece, perhaps I can work further digitally to get the look I’m after…mmmm or maybe I should just leave it? The problem with me is that I dislike having illustrations that are left, I feel I should be able to take something tangible away from it. Especially when it’s an image that I like aspects of, but not the whole image.

I don’t know, I think II’ll just throw it out there and see if I can get any feedback (click the image for a larger version) …

Ok, just thought I’d post this quickly, as it was sent to me by a friend and I thought it was pretty cool. Check it out, have a play and relax it’s almost the weekend!

Ah, finally I have found the Etsy Mini!! What a wonderful little advert, I thought I was pretty up todate with the little Etsy gadgets but I learned something new today.

Behold the might Mini!!

… ok so it turns out I can’t seem to get it working in my post, so just one more thing before I can show it to the world, my apologies!

As I’ve been busy with some family things over the bank holiday weekend and with my new much improved printer that arrived yesterday (much to my excited glee), I haven’t had a great deal of time to concentrate on new images. So I thought as my posts have been a little sparse I would share a couple of designers I found on Etsy, that were really inspirational to me. It was difficult picking two to show as there are soo many talented people on there, but here they are :

Krystyna81.etsy.com

– Her art work is absolutely beautiful. The application of the different media she uses is very accomplished and she has a strong use of light and shadow in her work which makes it really striking. I love the sketchy and painterly way the media is applied. Krystyna81’s work is definately something I would put up on my own walls.

ellembee.etsy.com

– These t-shirt designs are lovely and very wearable. I could definitely see myself in one of these, the only problem would be deciding which one as there are so many nice designs!

Yes, thats right my very first sale! It’s very exciting, I woke early Saturday morning to find that my print, Dreamin had sold earlier, what a fantastic way to start the weekend. I’m very chuffed and just wanted to share this moment, which I hope is only the beginning!

Have a great weekend and bank holiday!

So here are few of the holiday snaps, I wish I could put more up I think it’s all about quality not quantity! I choose these ones for different reasons, their interesting patterns/history and just because I like the composition. I had lots to choose from in the end so it was very hard, these aren’t necessarily my favourites, they’re just ones I find currently interesting.
