Finally I can divulge something else I’ve been working on! I’ve been keeping it under my belt for ohh about a month now, which is truly amazing for me as I cannot normally keep a secret at all (just ask my partner, Peter!).
Well Brittni Wood of Paper N Stitch has created, along with her partner, a new website to display a selection of artists and designers work, and today is the early launch! I am so thrilled to be a part of this as there are only about 70 people in this initial launch and to be include with so many talented people is a real honour.
You can’t purchase my images through papernstitch but once you click on the image it will take you through to the relevant page on my etsy store! Yay, I feel so much more positive today!

Yes, Halloween is coming! Although the UK isn’t big on celebrating this particularly day, my partner and I have decided to have a big party (any excuse huh!) as we have the most perfect venue witb our little 1820’s cottage complete with original floorboards and creaky stairs.
So for the last week and a bit we have had unusual packages turning up at the house in preparation for this soiree! Black lights, UV paint, cloth, fire lights, church candles and many more unusual items. All going towards the overall effect of spookiness!
My partner is a wizz when it comes to DIY and has so far fixed the firelights under the floorboards of our dining room, to allow the red light to flood up through the boards, with the lights out it looks great. He has also constructed a bar type area near the front bay window where we are going to store the punch and various spirits (pun not intended…but allowed) and we have giant glass bottles to store underneath to create the alchemist look. Now to find weird things to float in them…
Apart from this I have been painting on some small canvases that I purchased last week, trying to get some more work to put in my Etsy and All Things Original Shop. Speaking of shops I have just set up a new filidavidus shop on Folksy.com and I am registered on Stumbleupon, Flickr and another community for Illustrators! I’ve been very busy, but alas my sales have yet to pick up, which is starting to get me down 😦 But you have to stay positive or you’d just give in, and hopefully I will begin to feel the effect of all the good work I’ve done very soon…
Yep, I managed to get my first treasury today!
After much refreshing of the page, I was able to finally get a treasury, although at this point I hadn’t even thought about what to call it, hence the rather unimaginative ‘Colourful Beauty’! But I guess I’ll learn for next time…Be more organised! It was difficult to choose what pieces to go for as there were so many different styles I liked, but in the end I went for something bright and eclectic, and I put two pieces of my work in there…a bit of shameless promoting but I think they fit quite well!

As I’ve been busy with some family things over the bank holiday weekend and with my new much improved printer that arrived yesterday (much to my excited glee), I haven’t had a great deal of time to concentrate on new images. So I thought as my posts have been a little sparse I would share a couple of designers I found on Etsy, that were really inspirational to me. It was difficult picking two to show as there are soo many talented people on there, but here they are :
– Her art work is absolutely beautiful. The application of the different media she uses is very accomplished and she has a strong use of light and shadow in her work which makes it really striking. I love the sketchy and painterly way the media is applied. Krystyna81’s work is definately something I would put up on my own walls.
– These t-shirt designs are lovely and very wearable. I could definitely see myself in one of these, the only problem would be deciding which one as there are so many nice designs!
So here are few of the holiday snaps, I wish I could put more up I think it’s all about quality not quantity! I choose these ones for different reasons, their interesting patterns/history and just because I like the composition. I had lots to choose from in the end so it was very hard, these aren’t necessarily my favourites, they’re just ones I find currently interesting.
Ok so I’m a little late of the mark for this as I opened yesterday, but I thought I’d put up images of the prints I have launched with. Initially it’s only 6 but I plan to expand that shortly, unfortunately with a full time job I’m finding there are never enough hours in the day! But without further ado, here are the 3 of the 6 prints :
Ok, so I haven’t spent anytime of my blog….ooops, but I do intend to recify this now that I have my holiday out of the way and I can finally but a lot more of my energy into Etsy.
I have had a wonderful break with my partner, family and friends and I feel much more refreshed and raring to go. I will post some of the photos I took whilst in the US, some are very interesting and I love capturing elements that people can tend to over look when they’re busy taking in the whole picture and not the parts that make it up. But you can decide for your selves! I’m particularly pleased that we managed to have our holiday unspoilt by hurricanes and tropical storms, especially after I saw that Key West was evacuated at the beginning of the week! My condolences to those that were there at the time, I hope the weather didn’t completely ruin your break, and to the locals although they’re probably more used to it by now.
Ohh and I’d like to shout out to Team GB for an absolutely amazing medal haul so far! The best since 1920, the team has worked sooo hard and I feel incredibly proud by their achievement, not just for themselves but representing our country. Go GB, I really hope you beat the medal total the government has set, that’ll show them!
I’ve never had a diary as I could not keep to writing in it everyday…so I have high hopes for my Blog! But seriously bear with me as my posts may be a bit sporadic at first especially whilst setting up my shop and my holiday (wooo). But I will be here as much as I possibly can. Enjoy the short time left of the weekend!
Adios for now!
Well, I have just set up my very first blog!
Yes, yes I know its currently a little underwhelming (to put it mildly!), but I do intend to update it and make it more unique, more…representative of my tastes, well at least as much as you can with a standardized template.
So here I am sitting out on my terrace in the sun, enjoying the English summer weather, as you never know how long it’ll last, 1 day, 1 week and month…so far we haven’t experienced the same freak weather of last year. I know that because my old village is still visible above sea level, but I will not count my chickens before they’ve hatched! And with my luck the 2 weeks I plan to spend away on holiday will be the best weather this island has seen all year. Its just the way life works!
Anyway, I appear to have deviated off the point of why I have set this blog up, well as a creative artist I have found my drive lagging some what, I put this down mainly to my ability to procrastinate and my daydreamy personality. I like to plan, plan, plan, particularly with the aid of lists…lists for this, that and other lists. Sometimes you just have to throw your self in the deep end and go for it, otherwise you’ll still be there creating yet more lists.
So I will be using this list (sorry force of habit, I mean blog), to let you know what I am currently working on and how my Etsy shop is going (I will be opening shortly), as well as inspirational work and ideas I come across so stay tuned!
